Carolyn “Kay” Thomsen
1938 – 2020

Kay Thomsen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Kay was born on Oct. 9, 1938 and went to be with our Lord on Jan. 2.  She and husband Pat met in high school and went together for two years before they were married on Dec. 7, 1956. They were married for 63 years.

Kay’s lifelong passion was to donate her time, money and resources to her favorite charities:  The Salvation Army; Calvary Chapel Old Towne Orange; and especially Operation Christmas Child.  She spent just about every weekend going to garage sales to collect goodies for the hundreds of Operation Christmas Child boxes she made each year.

She and Pat lived in OPA for 45 years, and were involved in every aspect of life there, including the OPA Women’s League.  She loved working in her very eclectic garden, which has been on several garden tours and featured in a garden magazine.

She is survived by her husband Pat Thomsen; daughters Pam Lachance and Shelley Baumgardner, their husbands, Mike Lachance and Alan Baumgardner; and her grandchildren, Danielle Lachance, Corey Lachance, Jeffrey Baumgardner and Chasen Baumgardner.
